Accepted Special Session Topics

  • Nonlinear Sensing: From materials to systems
  • Embedded Artificial Intelligent (AI) for Smart Sensing and IoT applications

The IEEE SAS 2020 invites professionals and researchers in the area of Sensors and Sensors Applications to propose special sessions.

If you intend to propose and organize a special session, please provide the required information using the template below and submit your proposal via EDAS.

Organization of Special Sessions (SS)
Once SS is approved, it is the duty of the organizers to publicize the Special Session among researchers and practitioners in the field and attract a sufficient number of papers. The presence of at least one SS organizer, who will act as a Special Session Chair, is necessary.

Papers submitted to SSs will undergo the same review process as regular papers. The SS organizer will be involved in the review process of the papers submitted to the respective special sessions proposing at least three reviews per paper.

Before starting the review process, SS organizers must explicitly declare papers which present a conflict of interest for them. A conflict of interest arises where the judgement of a paper quality can be influenced by the organizers being authors or knowing some of the authors.

A minimum of 4 accepted papers with authors from at least 3 independent institutions is required for each SS. If a SS consists of insufficient papers, accepted papers will be allocated to regular sessions wherever possible. In case of indication of weakly organized SS, the conference organizers will support the organizers with advice but reserve measures including cancellation of the respective SS.
Please submit your proposal in PDF format using this Word template before the 7th of October to the Special Sessions Proposal track in EDAS.
